The hippie movement shared the same ideologism with the Indian concept "Sannyasa". Sannyasa is a spiritual and life philosophy that means to renounce or to leave all all material possessions and to leave a peaceful and simple life. This was also the same idea strived for by those in the hippie movement in the 1960s and 1970s.
