The Cherokee wanted to avoid problems and wars because they knew how much suffering it would bring to their people so they tried to assimilate with the people and adopt new practices or work with the government in order to ensure protection and their existence in a world that was against them and their cultural beliefs and lifestyles.

The Seminole didn't want this and they fought against it with force. They had numerous wars against the United States government because they didn't want to abandon their land and their lifestyles. Not only were they resisting assimilation, but they actually increased the amount of behaving according to their tradition to even further strengthen their culture among their people.
