How might women react to the ideas of the enlightenment

During the Enlightenment period, women began to question their roles in society which at the time were primarily domestic, such as cooking, cleaning, and raising children. This period caused them to become more active in society by becoming more aware of cultural happenings and contributing through novels in which they would voice their opinions that were once restricted by men who ruled society at the time.
