The presence of Europeans on the West African coast and the creation of slave ports in different sections of the continent have sparked a continuous cycle of abuse of Africa's human capital, labor, and commodities. Transatlantic slave trading has significantly undermined Africa's capacity to thrive economically and sustain its civil and political integrity. This exploitative practice has affected African political and religious hierarchy, the warring groups, and the biracial bourgeoisie, who have made modest profits through slave labor, to engage in the persecution of their people. Europeans, on the other side, also gained tremendously from Atlantic trading by enabling them to amass the raw materials that fuelled the Industrial Revolution to the detriment of African populations whose potential to turn their modes of development into a competitive entrepreneurial culture has been significantly halted.
