    It resulted in the conquest of Jerusalem by the European forces of the crusade.

    Explanation:

    The first crusade was called on by pope Urban the second to safeguard the christian faith against the Muslim invaders who had occupied the holy land of the Christians which was Jerusalem.

    This was mainly a political maneuver and also was a maneuver on the pope's part to keep up his influence but it was a massive success as many crusaders joined the ranks.

    The attackers attacked the city in 3 waves and finally sacked and overtook Jerusalem as was their goal in the first crusade by the end on 1099.
