President John Adams conceded Alien and Sedition bills that were passed in the Congress. These acts made it difficult for any alien or a stranger to acquire the US Citizenship. President was given all powers to incarcerate or expel any citizen who deemed to be hazardous for the security of the nation or who came from an antagonistic nation.

The purpose of this act was to put an end to any type of perfidious, disrespectful and obnoxious speech which criticized US Constitution, the Government, the pennant or the uniform. It was also aimed to reduce the influence of immigration.

Sedition act is a statute which was implemented based on treachery and deceit charges of any citizen.
