Britain's superior navy allowed them to seize control of key ports and conquer France's colonies. Because of this advantage, the British were better able to transport troops to theater and bear the costs of war for so long. Despite Spain's entry into the war, the British won on the strength of their colonial wealth backed by the world's best navy.
