The correct answer is the following: option C. The speaker's purpose of Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death is to convince his audience that lack of action will have troubling consequences.

On March 23rd, 1775, Patrick Henry gave a speech at the Second Virginia Convention. Patrick Henry was a planter from Virginia who had become a lawyer. In that moment of time in America, the colonists were trying to form an army in order to fight against the British. Henry's speech main idea was to convince the audience that Virginia should have their military involved in fighting against the British in the American Revolutionary War. He believes that the only way of granting freedom for the patriots colonists is if their military fights against the British. Failing to do so will end in the colonists being slaves of the British for more years to come.
