By the end of trial, what was the Catholic Church position on the heliocentric theory

    The position on heliocentrism was negative. The trial ended with the church declaring that spreading heliocentric theories is heretical and banned and Galileo had the option of abandoning it publicly and saving his life and continuing his work, or sticking to his theory and probably losing his life like many other scientists did at the time.
