Are you talking about now, or back then?
Back then, Socrates was trialed due to two offenses: failure to acknowledge the gods that his city acknowledges and introducing new gods and deities. You know how the ancient Greeks were about their gods.
Ultimately, Socrates was put to death due to doing what he does naturally: asking questions.
