Analyze the differences between the Spanish settlements in the Southwest and the English colonies in New England in the 17th century in terms of two of the following: politics, religion, economic development.

    The primary difference between the Spanish colonies and the English colonies was that the Spanish colonies were primarily for security of the empire, while the British colonies were primarily used to increase trade profits through tobacco, sugar, etc.
