The International Criminal Court's main responsibility is to prosecute individuals for human rights violations. The crimes that this Court investigates, prosecute and try are: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and the crime of aggression all stated by the Rome Statute, an international conference of 160 States in which the first treaty-based permanent international criminal court was established.
