Tradition says that when the Mexican troops approached the church of The Alamo, six "fully formed flaming ghosts" appeared and ordered the troops to stop and go away. Even today, people have reported sightings in the Alamo, a building that originally was built as a church for the San Antonio de Valero mission, in 1718.
