Which of these is a reason early Christians were persecuted in the Roman Empire? Early Christians engaged in violent demonstrations to gain converts. Monotheistic religions were seen as a threat to the Roman way of life. Christians refused to worship the Roman emperor as a god. Christians refused to work as slaves or soldiers for Rome.
