    Answer: among historians there are accepted different dates, especially as far as the end of the revolution is concerned (for some coronation of Napoleon in 1804 is the end of revolution, i. e. republican regime finished, for some the end is associated with the restoration of Bourbon royal dynasty in 1814/1815). French revolution is understood as the most of so-called "bourgeois revolutions" which attempted overthrow feudalism (societies politically organized on the basis of hereditary royalty and economically based on rural property and rural industry).

    Explanation: According to historian Jacques Godechot French revolution (1789) was preceded by various smaller revolutions in different parts of Europe, i. e. revolutionary processes were under way at that time. When revolution started there was no intention to put an end to monarchy and to establish republic but events got out of hands. Ist French republic ended in 1804 when Napoleon was crowned as an Emperor.
