Why might some African countries use a European language as a "trade language"?

A. They are forced to use it

B. It's a more common language

C. The country is still a colony

D. No one speaks local language

    It's not A, as they simply aren't forced to.

    It's not C, as Africa is not 'just' a colony; infact, empires and therefore colonies are no longer allowed among the UN.

    D is incredibly stupid.
