How is a person counted as unemployed? The person must have work lined up for the future or be actively searching for a job. The person has held a job for at least six months but is not currently working. The person is currently working but is about to be laid off. The person must have worked within the last six months or have been injured on the job.

    Who is counted as unemployed? People are classified as unemployed if they do not have a job, have actively looked for work in the prior 4 weeks, and are currently available for work.
