Delegates keep divided opinions to themselves because if they don't agree with it the public won't either.

    Explanation:

The ratification of the Constitution was a difficult task, this is one of the main reasons that the Federalist Papers were written, to try to convince the public and try to influence the delegates to ratify it. So, Benjamin Franklin took the role of restoring harmony and the good humor on the proceedings and asked delegates to keep their divided opinions to themselves.
