    The iroquois, yoruba, igbo, bini people were similar to the earlier agricultural civilizations in the agricultural techniques they used. They adopted maize and bean-farming techniques from Mesoamerica.

    Also they lived is small village-based community organized in terms of kinship relations and avoided incorporation into larger empires/civ. s
