We can affirm that in the case of Africa imperialism was economic, political and military, since European powers invaded, dominated and exploited the continent of Africa. The case of Latin America is different, because the countries of this region had their political independence in most cases, that is why the European powers and the USA tried to deploy their influence over this territory and to be able to intervene in their economy and their government systems.
