    C. More extreme and rigid.

Authoritarianism is, in various degrees, anti-democratic, it depends on the undisputed rule of those in power, and obedience is imposed by force. Totalitarianism is the undisputed rule of government over almost every aspect of society and personal life, placing the stability of the whole above individual concerns.
