    They both found enjoyment in solitude

    Contrary to popular believe, introverted nature is not all about cant make friends and Social anxiety. Introverts just have a huge tendency to be stuck in their own mind for a longer period time. Thoreau and John thronton is just like that.

    They both find pleasures in escaping soceity's petty attempt to communicate (such as gossip, small talk, etc)
