Even though they have not always won in elections third-party candidates usually gain attention from the public.

For example, we have third-party candidates who were able to influence the electoral process and even win such as Robert La Follette in 1924, Strom George Wallace in 1968, and John Hospers in 1972.

A recent case in which we discover third-party candidates who are unable to influence the electoral process by reducing the total votes that would have gone to the losing opposition popular party is the one about Trump V Hillary Clinton Presidential elections struggle.

Analysts believe that third-party candidate-Jill Stein from Green Party affected the total votes that would have gone to Hillary Clinton because she took away votes that would have gone to Hillary Clinton.
