The correct answer is - C) a government free from Islamic influences.

Cordoba was the center of the Islam on European soil. It was under the rule and thus influence of the Arabs. They managed to spread their territory on three continents, Asia, Afrika, and Europe. In Europe, they conquered and had a big influence on the culture and politics on the Pyrenean Peninsula, mostly in the southern part of it, and the biggest center in the European part of the Arab Empire was the city of Cordoba. Even nowadays Cordoba is known and recognizable for the Islamic influence on the culture, religion, architecture etc., and the city has a romanticized place in the Muslim world.
