A strategy that President Truman used as well as his advisers in which they considered in ending the world war two is by being able to fight their enemies in the war, the same way that they are being fought of in which they engage in, in order to end the war that started.

Truman considered two options for ending the war, a full scale invasion of Japan or use of the atomic bombs.

Once, the US had made their way to Japan, the land invasion began. The goal was to use air strikes to bomb major cities and a land invasion to take the country. However, this option was at a high cost of lives and when Truman found out the US had successfully tested an atomic bomb he decided that would be be the better route. The US demanded unconditional surrender from Japan after dropping the first and second bombs.
