    Explanation: While I don't know which story/book you are referring to, the term "taking the road less traveled" is pretty much stating that you are being at odds with everyone else. For example, if everybody in your hiking group goes on path A and you decide to take path B, you would be taking the road less traveled, which would make you fearless, courageous, etc.
