Saints Cyril and Methodius were key in the eventual creation of the Russian alphabet, so option D is the correct one. Both Cyril and Methodius were brothers and Christian missionaries sent by the Byzantine emperor to spread Christianity among Slavs regions in the 800s. As people in those regions did not use the same language, Saints Cyril and Methodius created a new alphabet to translate liturgical books. The new alphabet became knows as the "Glagolitic alphabet" which was used in the Russian regions of today.

The correct answer is D) The Russian Alphabet

Saints Cyril and Methodius were two brothers and through their work, they created the Glagolitic alphabet by converting to Christianity the Danubian Slavs. When they started working with Slavs they translated the Bible and created the Glagolitic alphabet that developed into the Cyrillic form that is still used today as modern Russia and other Slavic languages.
