The correct answer is - absolute authority.

Louis XIV was a king that is not in good memory for the French people. He wanted to gain absolute authority, unlimited power in France. In order to achieve this, Louis XIV was choosing no means, which led to terrorizing the ordinary people, everyone that he saw as unsuitable according to his thoughts, any possible other authority.

This made the French people to stand up for themselves. They were sick of the terrible actions of their king, so they decided that enough is enough and that they will take matters into their own hands. They did so, and ended up victorious.
