What is the difference between the beliefs of Mencius and those of Xunzi?

Mencius believes that all humans have kindness within them. It also states that kings should have generosity within their ruling kingdoms and that the act of selflessness comes before any other virtue.

Xunzi believes that all humans were born bad and greedy. He also believe that their should be strict regulations towards the higher class in order for the society and mankind to learn how to fear and that scholars should have teachers to advise and tolerate them.
