Why did Stalin insist that Roosevelt and Churchill open a second front in France?

    Stalin insisted to open the second front in France so they could defeat Nazi Germany sooner. With this, Operation Torch took place on November 1942, it consisted of the invasion of North Africa which reduced the pressure on the Allied forces in Egypt. But it was only in 1944 that the Allies invaded Europe via France.
