Explain the effects of innovations such as the factory system and the cotton gin on the South.

    In 1793, eli whitney invented a simple machine that influenced the history of the united states. he invented a cotton gin that was papular in the south. the south became the cottom producing part of the country because whitney's cotton gin was able to successfully pull out the seeds from the cottom bolls.

    It allowed the southerners to have a more efficient way of producing textiles. In recent times cotton had to be separated by hand which required a large amount of time and work. With the introduction of the cotton gin, work became faster and easier. With the introduction of the factory system, all workers could be in one place, all machines could be at one spot and this would provide as a very efficient method.
