Why did the Civil Rights movement fall apart in the late 1960's and early 1970's?

    Because they had accomplished all of the easy goals they have set and now they were going for bigger goals that wouldn't be accomplished in a movement. (they got the end of segregation and discrimination and the right to vote) which was easily granted by the government and they were going for larger things that couldn't be so easily given, which they failed to success and the movement fell apart.
