Through the burning of the fossil fuels enormous amounts of CO2 are released into the atmosphere. That is causing pollution of the atmosphere, as well as changes in the climate, making the climate more unpredictable, and also changing certain areas from suitable for agriculture to not suitable for it. That has led to lot of warnings and concerns about the usage of the fossil fuels, so there's numerous attempts and researches into the field of alternative energy sources, especially into the usage of the renewable energy sources in order to protect the environment, and with it protect ourselves as well.
