    Correct answer: Innocent

Presumption of innocence means that, instead of having the defendant (the accused party) be forced to prove that he/she is innocent of a crime, the burden of proof falls upon the prosecutor's (the accusing party) shoulders, that is, it is the prosecutor's job to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant is indeed guilty of the crime they are being accused of.

In more layman's terms, it may be easily explained as giving the defendant the benefit of the doubt.
