    The natural regions of Texas are divided into three geographic subsections that have different types of vegetation, the coastal plains, the north central plains and the great plains. The Coastal Plains region has five different geographic subsections these are the Piney Woods, Blackland Prairie, the Gulf Coast Plain, the Post Oak Belt and the South Texas Plain. (D)
