In the Roman and Greek societies women weren't actually considered citizens and didn't have the right to vote, but in the Roman empire they had certain legal rights and were able to attend public events, in the other case with the greeks women were seeing as necessary for reproduction but weren't considered as citizens and didn't have the right to an opinion on the public matters.
