The most representative international community and with the largest number of countries involved is the United Nations (UN).

However, the term is vague and may designate groups of small countries, or only large or more developed countries. For the pacification of the peoples, however, the one who most assumes the role of a conciliator is the UN, through the Security Council.

This council meets in cases of conflicts between countries, to find diplomatic exits at first. If there is no agreement and the conflict is imminent, United Nations Peacekeeping Forces can be convened and assist in restoring law and order in conflict areas.
