    Explanation:

    In order to remove the gender based distinction in the matters of employment, property, divorce and other connected matters, Equal rights Amendment was enacted by the government. The 1st version of this amendment was presented in the year 1923 in congress which was drafted by Crystal Eastman and Alice Paul.

    This amendment was reintroduced in the year 1971 and was approved by both the houses & submitted for ratification by State Legislatures. This amendment has not been ratified by the requisite number of States as there are 15 States which has not ratified this amendment and therefore this amendment is yet to be part of the Constitution.
