    By definition, both the pneumonic and bubonic plagues are infectious diseases that are generally caused by a specific pathogen called the Yersinia pestis. On the other hand, the main difference among both these plagues is that pneumonic plague tends to be more violent in leading to a lung infection as compared to the bubonic plague.
