    After the war of 1812, Americans were compensated for lost slaves by The Treaty of Ghent. it might be added that it was considered one of the worst American wars but it came out with a renewed sense of nationhood, so it was decided to protect manufacturing to building roads and to protect the authority of the federal government.-
