What if the U-2 incident never happened? Do you suppose the Cold War would have continued? (Think about the outcome and how the US and the Soviets did not trust each other.)

    There was indication that the two countries were heading towards a positive outcome because there was a East-West summit being prepared in Paris where countries would meet and have negotiations and spread positiveness and things like that. Because of the U-2 incident, the relationships deteriorated and both countries started hating each other even more.
