What is the primary reason that elections are important to democracies

    Democracy is a form of government in which the leaders are elected by the people. To chose a leader, the people of a nation cast vote. The elected leaders thus make decisions on behalf of the people and represent them in the government. Therefore, election plays an important role in the democratic form of government. However, the primary reason that elections are important to Democracies, is that 'Elections provide the peaceful transfer of power between administrators through voter participation".
