In the 1950s, what was the status of most countries in eastern europe

    Most countries in the eastern Europe region in the 1950's were under the communism sphere of influence and had joined hands with the soviet union to form the Warsaw pact. Any rebellion against the communist regime was being quickly crashed with the assistance of the red army.
