Describe a way in which religion influenced life in the United States.

Religion influenced not only the US, but the whole world in a negative way because people tend to get fanatic over religious aspects. Religious people tend to think that the ones who don't follow their religion and/or think in a different way, are bad people and shall be judged, criticized and left aside because they won't be saved by God's infinite pity.
