What advantages did the southern patriots have over the british in the war

    1.) Territory/Landscape

    They knew the territory/landscape of the land they were fighting on.

    2.) Support

    The population was on their side, so, they were provided more food, lodging, and information.

    3.) Shorter supply lines

    Unlike the British, who had to be supplied food, guns, powder, and reinforcements by sea, the south had all those supplies all around them.

    4.) Live off the Land

    The South could live off the land from all the locally grown crops.

    5.) Surprise Attacks

    They didn't really fight in uniform, so, they could easily blend in with the nature and commit surprise attacks against the British soldiers when they least expected it.

    6.) Land

    The South had a lot of land and few important cities.

    7.) Weather

    The South featured warmer, more pleasurable weather, than in the North, where the winter was harsh.

    8.) British casualties couldn't be replaced easily

    They couldn't be easily replaced because transporting by sea was very tedious.
