There was a commotion in the household when chanticleer was captured by the fox. The widow and her daughters, the geese, hens, ducks, dogs, and the bees pursued the fox. What saved the rooster though was his wise suggestion for the fox to shout insults at his pursuers. The ego-centric rooster who was captured because he succumbed to the fox’s flattery came to his senses and saved himself by fooling the fox.
