    In Washington's farewell address to the public, he did a few major things:

    First of all, he set the precedence that a president must serve only two terms

    Second, he warned the public of political parties, and said they would tear apart the government

    Third, he warned not to make permanent ties with foreign countries because it could hurt us later.
