How did the domino theory influence the United States' role in the Vietnam War?

    Cause they thought that if they didn't engage then Vietnam would fall under the influence of the communists.

    The domino theory was that if one nation fell to communism, others in the area would soon follow.

    This influenced the US in the Vietnam War, for they thought that Vietnam was a stepping stone for communism to be able to reach and influence other Asian nations in the area
