During the late 1900s, opposition and protests of the Vietnam War grew across America. While the Vietnam War was taking place in Vietnam from 1959-1975, American protesters publicly criticize a war in which their fellow Americans were fighting and dying in. Diversity characterized the antiwar protests and organizations that emerged between 1965 and 1973. Students across the country found a stimulating issue and joined together in protest. Tensions grew among the Americans as the war continued and divided the nation.
