How did feminists benefit from their association with other reform movements, most notably abolitionists, and at the same time suffer as a result?

    In United States, feminists history is linked to the abolitionists. And the leader of the most of the abolitionists were Male. Women's progress towards these feminists goals were limited in abolition years. Later on, some individual women (like Elizabeth Blackwell, Antoinette Brown Blackwell etc.) were manage to break the barriers to advancement.
